EXCLUSIVE: After 18 years as a lit agent, Emile Gladstone is leaving ICM Partners to partner with client Chris Morgan in his Chris Morgan Productions banner. Gladstone is transitioning his clients within the agency–Morgan continues to be repped by ICM Partners–and he will begin running Morgan’s film and TV divisions in August.

CMP has a first look feature deal at Universal, where Morgan has written the last four films in The Fast And The Furious franchise, with another one in the works. He was also one of the writers on Wanted and the upcoming 47 Ronin. CMP has its first-look TV deal through 20th Television, where it has the series Gang Related slated for a mid-season slot. Morgan is exec producer. It will be Gladstone’s responsibility to help Morgan bolster the feature slate, and put series projects in development for 20th.

Said Morgan: “Emile and I have worked together for more than ten years and I am incredibly excited about this opportunity. He has excellent story and producorial instincts. This partnership will serve as a strong platform to execute our creative endeavors.”

Gladstone added, “Chris has the best creative compass I have seen in my career. Although the landscape of the business is constantly shifting, the world wide need for entertainment content has never been greater. With the distribution partners CMP has in place, our vision for the company is limitless.”

A founding partner at the reconstructed ICM Partners, Gladstone started his rep career at The Agency before moving to Broder-Kurland. He became Mike Ovitz’s first hire at Artist Management Group, but returned to Broder after just six months. He then joined those principals when the boutique agency was bought by ICM. He spent the past 14 years working with the same group of core agents, and they wished him well and helped facilitate the transition with Morgan, who is a very important client of the agency.

Said ICM Partners in a joint statement, “Emile has been an important part of our team for many years, and we know he will bring the same level of passion and enthusiasm to his role at Chris Morgan Productions. We look forward to continued success with both Emile and Chris.”

On the feature side, CMP has Mama helmer Andy Muschietti directing an adaptation of Bird Box, and Morgan is producing a reboot of Conan the Barbarian, among other producing projects. He’s currently writing and producing the seventh installment of The Fast And The Furious.
