The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare is a national agency for health and welfare statistics, analysis and information and contributes to better statistics and information for better health and welfare for all Australians. We also inform policy and community debate by highlighting health and welfare issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Types of temporary work

Growing demand for our services means that from time to time we have non-ongoing employment opportunities for talented people. We are currently seeking to update our register of individuals interested in short-term employment. Vacancies will typically be for periods of 3 months although shorter or longer term opportunities may also arise.

We are interested in hearing from people with skills in the following areas:

  • project management
  • statistical analysis
  • evaluation
  • report preparation and writing
  • data management
  • publication and desktop applications
  • human resource management
  • finance and personnel processing; and/or
  • general administration.
