Sibling Rivalry on Two 'Thor: The Dark World' Posters

As summer closes out, Marvel Studios is cranking up its promotion for Thor: The Dark World, which continues Phase Two in theaters on November 8th.

The latest examples of sequel promotion are two new character posters featuring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston as the gods of thunder and mischief.

The Thor sequel picks up more than a year after The Avengers, as producer Craig Kyle revealed last week.  While the bifrost's destruction in Thor kept the Asgardians to themselves, Kyle explained,  "Finally the Bifrost has been rebuilt, but during that time, when the cops were largely cut off from the rest of the universe, you had miscreants that came in from outside the Nine Realms, pillaging and destroying and causing havoc. So that's what our guys have been doing now - trying to put all these fires out across the Nine Realms."

Things get complicated when the Dark Elves, led by the villainous Malekith the Accursed, attack Asgard and Earth.  In order to combat this new threat, Thor must team up with his adopted brother, imprisoned since having Hulk beat the snot out of him.

As you can see in the below posters, though, neither nor Hulk beating has changed either Thor, the man of action, or Loki, the inveterate schemer.

Thanks to Marvel for the posters.

Last week we saw a big batch of official images from Thor: The Dark World, which you can view by clicking right here.  Last week also brought a behind the scenes featurette promoting the film, and you can see that action-packed video by following this link.

Oh, and earlier this month, director Alan Taylor revealed that additional photography means even more of Hiddleston's Loki, saying, "We're adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time....We realized how well Loki was working in the movie, and we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing, it was like, 'Oh, we could do this, we could jam this in here because he's such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff.'"
