About Louis C.K.

With more than twenty years as a stand-up, Louis C.K. is one of the most honest and respected comedic voices of his generation, finding success in television and film as well as the live stage.

Louis' new FX series, "Louie," is slated for a second season. Louis is the executive producer, writer, director, editor and star in the series based on his life as a stand-up comic and single father of two living in New York City.

Louis' stand-up concert film, "Louis C.K.: Hilarious," premiered at The Sundance Film Festival as the first stand-up concert film presented at Sundance. Directed by Louis, the film received rave reviews with Variety declaring, "Stand-up comedy cinema has a new star in 'Louis C.K.: Hilarious.'" "Hilarious" was Louis' third film to screen at Sundance following his 1998 feature, "Tomorrow Night," and his 1994 short, "Ice Cream."

Louis recently starred in the film, "The Invention of Lying," alongside Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner and was seen in a recurring role on the NBC series, "Parks & Recreation," playing Pawnee police officer Dave Sanderson, a love interest of Amy Poehler's character Leslie Kanope.

Louis was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special for his second one-hour special, "Louis C.K.: Chewed Up." "Chewed Up" is available on CD/DVD and Louis' first hour special, "Louis C.K.: Shameless," is available on DVD. Louis has starred in two HBO "One Night Stand" stand-up specials, a Comedy Central Presents special and HBO's 25th Anniversary Young Comedians special.

Louis created and starred in HBO's first traditional sitcom, "Lucky Louie," about the struggles of first time parenthood. The complete first season of "Lucky Louie" is available on DVD and recently premiered in Canada.

As a filmmaker, Louis is best known for his cult classic spoof, "Pootie Tang," which he wrote and directed. Louis' first feature film, "Tomorrow Night," an independent film that he produced, wrote and directed, premiered at The Sundance Film Festival in 1998. Louis' most successful short film, "Ice Cream," screened at Sundance and as part of the "New Directors, New Films" series at MOMA in 1994. "Ice Cream" went on to be sold in several foreign television markets and can still be seen on Bravo.

In 2008, Louis was seen in "Diminished Capacity" with Matthew Broderick, Virginia Madsen and Alan Alda and "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" with Martin Lawrence, Mike Epps and Cedric the Entertainer.
