About us

Strategic Plan

In 2009, the Board of Directors of the National Psoriasis Foundation created a new strategic plan outlining five major ways we will work to meet our mission over the next five years.

Our highest priority is to find a cure for psoriasis.

Between 2009 and 2014, we will strive to:

  • Increase the development capacity of the Foundation while maintaining its fiscal stability, by increasing public support from a diversity of sources, while maintaining a stable fiscal reserve.

  • Increase the Foundation’s role as a catalyst in scientific discovery, by increasing the Foundation’s investment in biomedical research, focusing our support on the key pathways that most directly and swiftly lead to a cure, and documenting the burden of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

  • Accelerate the Foundation’s ability to change conditions and policies that pose barriers to the mission, by working to advance legislation towards a cure, to secure more research funding, and to improve access to care; and by building an action network to help achieve these goals.

  • Increase the capacity of individuals and health care providers to effectively manage and treat psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis and improve overall health by ensuring that more people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis receive care, that more people use our educational resources, and that more providers receive the information they need to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

  • Expand the capacity of the Foundation through integrated, community-based divisions by organizing our work in a way that reflects the needs of our community, and by working with the community to generate support for our programs.

We hope you will join us in working towards these goals.
