In 1991, Patrick Swayze redefined the action movie villain with Bodhi, the Adonis of a surfer/skydiver/bank robber whose criminal escapades and extreme sporting were both part of a blissed-out quest to achieve nirvana via the ultimate rush in Point Break.

Yesterday, two months after he first emerged as one of two contenders for the role, it emerged that Paul Rudd is indeed in talks to star in Ant-Man, which kicks of Phase 3 in the Marvel Studios master plan on July 31, 2015.

Marvel Studios has gone ahead and confirmed that the actor is indeed on board for Edgar Wright's size-fu extravaganza.

Marvel Studios passed Paul Rudd a note asking, "Will you play Ant-Man?" with a two little boxes, one marked "Y" and the other marked "N."

Rudd, it turns out, checked the yes box.  The actor is in negotiations to play the title character in Ant-Man, Marvel's long-gestating superhero project.
