In next year's Kill the Messenger, Jeremy Renner stars as Gary Webb, an investigative journalist whose real-life pursuit of the truth resulted in his being  thrown under the bus, so to speak.

The first two stills from the dramatic thriller have arrived online, showing Renner in character as the man who traced how crack cocaine became horrifyingly ubiquitous in America.
