United States Grand Prix

02.11.14
Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas

The United States Grand Prix has been run, intermittently, since 1908. Over 41 editions, the race has been held at nine locations, most recently in 2007 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Circuit of the Americas is a 3.4-mile (5.5 km) motor racing circuit in Travis County, Texas, near Austin, currently under construction and due for completion in 2012.

The track is being built on about 890 acres (3.6 km square kilometres) of undeveloped land in southeastern Travis County. It is being designed by Hermann Tilke.

The race returned to the F1 calendar in 2012 where Lewis Hamilton won his penultimate race for McLaren. Vettel's failure to win saw the championship title run right to the last lap of the season at Brazil.
