Names on Invitations

In the case of guests, prefixes such as His Grace and His Excellency are omitted, but The Right Honourable is included for a privy counsellor who is not a peer.
The prefix The Honourable and the suffix Esquire are never used. In both cases a man is shown as Mr John Smith.
unmarried guests
An invitation to a pair of guests with a relationship other than husband and wife takes one of the following forms:
- Brother and sister: Mr John Brown and Miss Elizabeth Brown
- Mother and son: Mrs George Carruthers and Mr William Carruthers ?(note that invitations to adult offspring are usually sent separately from those to their parents).
- Unmarried couple: Mr Richard Blaine and Miss Ilsa Bond
