Britain's most important meeting of the first half of the Jump season, The Open offers three days of top-class racing in mid-November in a beautiful Cotswold setting.
It begins with the immensely popular Countryside Raceday (Friday), featuring a host of country pursuits including falconry displays and hound parades; plus the delights of The Open shopping village. The racing highlights are the £30,000 Sharp Novices' Hurdle, run over an two miles, as well as the £30,000 Glenfarclas Cross Country Steeple Chase, run over three miles, seven furlongs on the unique cross country course.
The next day sees the prestigious £150,000 Paddy Power Gold Cup, run over an extended two and a half miles, which is the centrepiece of the three-day event.
On Sunday there's the fiercely fought £100,000 Greatwood Handicap Hurdle, run over two miles, on The Open Sunday, where Cheltenham will host an array of children's activities for the first time ever.
