Malaysian Grand Prix

30.03.14
Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia

An event in the F1 calendar since 1999, the Malaysian Grand Prix is held at the state-of-the-art Sepang stadium just 10 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Sepang was built on the site of an oil palm plantation, and many palm trees have been built around the circuit to maintain its tropical lushness. The 5,543-metre track features 15 corners and 8 straights. There are ample opportunities for overtaking, ensuring fast, exciting races.

Tropical weather - blistering heat, alternating with dramatic downpours - ensures that the challenging driving conditions add extra spice.

In 2012, in extremely wet conditions, Fernando Alonso gave his team Ferrari a boost with his 28th career victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
