Formula 1 Season

March 2014

Australian Grand Prix

13.03.14 - 16.03.14
Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia

Formula One comes to Melbourne, transforming a suburban park into an international racing venue.

Australia has been part of the F1 championship since 1985. Initial races were held on the Adelaide Street Circuit, but Melbourne hosted the event from 1996. There is no permanent circuit in Melbourne, but the street circuit provides a distinctive backdrop for television audiences.

Within easy reach of Melbourne's central business district, Albert Park is a 16-turn circuit, which utilises public roads within the park. The circuit is famous for being a smooth and high speed test for drivers.

In 2012 British fans celebrated a flawless start to the Formula One season, when Jenson Button won the Australian Grand Prix.
