June 2014Opera Holland Park
Opera Holland Park is an annual season of opera performances staged under a temporary canopy in London's Holland Park.
Beginning in 1988, it initially played host to a variety of music, although it now focuses primarily on opera.
Productions are staged by an array of small opera companies; around half a dozen operas are staged each season, comprising over 50 performances. The majority of performances are well-known classics, although the company has a reputation for having an adventurous production policy.
The operas are staged in their original language, with the use of surtitles for the audience.
The 2013 Season includes the following operas: Carauena Rusticana, Pagliacc, Madama Butterfly, Les Pecheurs de Perles, L'elisir d'amore, I gioielli delia Madonna and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Tickets are available from the website.
