World Cup Polo on Snow

30.01.14 - 02.02.14
St Moritz, Switzerland

Watch four high-goal teams battling out for the Trophy on the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz. At an altitude of 1800 metres and on the snowy surface, both players and ponies must rise to a unique challenge - the event tests their endurance, concentration and skill to the limits.

The St Moritz Polo World Cup Polo on Snow is the world's most prestigious winter polo tournament, attracting top class polo players from Argentina, Chile, the UK and Australia.

Over the course of the four-day tournament, there are two top-quality matches daily, culminating in the grand final on Sunday. The event started 25 years ago when a handful of keen polo fans from St. Moritz decided to experiment with a brand-new type of sport: polo played on snow. Since then the event has gone from strength to strength, and now draws many spectators, attracted both by the passion and excitement of polo and the extremity of the conditions.
