A celebration of all things equestrian, the popular Royal Windsor show offers a full programme of jumping events, dressage and competitions, such as the Shetland Pony Grand National and the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games.
In 2012, the Jubilee year, the Royal Windsor Horse Show staged the Diamond Jubilee Pageant during the evenings of the Horse Show. Major International equestrian displays from the Pageant also took part in the Horse Show during the day.
Spectacular mounted skill is on display in the main arena - the Metropolitan Police Activity Ride, for example, includes the riders removing their saddles in mid gallop and jumping through hoops of fire.
The Royal Windsor Show also hosts one of the most important driving events in the UK, the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix, which utilises a large part of the private grounds of Windsor Castle - HRH Prince Phillip is an avid enthusiast.
The Royal Windsor show is also the first event of the equestrian showing season, and offers a range of different showing classes, from Large and Small Riding Horse to Polo Pony, Heavyweight Hunter, Novice Hack and Working Cob.
If visitors tire of the horsemanship, there is a choice of over 200 shops, offering a range of equestrian items, crafts, clothing and gourmet foods.
