The Armory Show, The International Fair of New Art, was started by four New York art dealers as The Gramercy International Contemporary Art Fair in 1994. Its name derives from the 1913 Armory Show, which introduced European Modernism to America.

The 2011 Armory Show was the largest in the event's history, with record-breaking attendance figures of over 65,000. Visitors included representatives from over 80 museums and some of the arts scene glitterati, including Sofia Coppola, CharlesSchwab, Dean Valentine, Marty Margulies, Phoenix rocker Thomas Mars and U2's guitar man The Edge.

The Armory Show 2014?is held at the 69th Regiment Armory, Piers 92 and 94, 12th Avenue at 55th Street, New York City. The show is open daily from noon to 8pm (Thursday-Saturday), and from noon to 7pm (Sunday).

It is now established as an international institution, and one of the main global market places for modern art.
