Winter Olympics

07.02.14 - 23.02.14
Sochi, Russia

If you're a winter sports enthusiast Canada is the only place to be in 2014.

Vancouver will be hosting the Winter Olympics throughout February, attracting over 5,000 competitors from over 80 different countries. All the alpine skiing and sliding events will be taking place at the famous resort of Whistler, where the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains represent 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and some of the best skiing conditions in the world.

The Olympics present 15 different winter sports over 16 days of events, including all-time favourites, such as alpine and cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, ice hockey, ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating, curling and luge.

These events will be taking place in nine separate competition venues. Notable highlights will include the Opening Ceremony, at 6pm on 12 February at BC Place, and the closing event of the Games - the men's ice hockey final at 12pm on 28 February, which will be a hot favourite with the local crowds.
