July 2013Larmer Tree Festival
This intimate family-festival on the Wiltshire/Dorset borders presents five days of music, street theatre, the spoken word and stand-up comedy. Camping is free at the Larmer Tree Festival, and the well-appointed campsites (with excellent hot showers) have panoramic views over some beautiful English countryside.
There are seven venues, including the Main Stage, Garden Stage and Big Top. You can enjoy talks and theatre at Club Larmer and chill out with newspapers and drinks at The Social.
Winners of the 2008 Family Festival Award, Larmer offers more than 70 free workshops, shows and activities for the under-10s. With eleven acres of magical garden to explore and a huge adventure playground, you can be sure your kids will be kept busy and entertained.
If you need a break from the music, you can always make your way to The Village, which features a Global Bazaar, and stalls selling CDs and T-shirts. Or you could simply lie back and relax in Lostwood, an enchanted tree-shaded glade, where you will be treated to a full programme of entertainment, talks, story-telling and poetry.
The 2014?line-up has yet to be announced.
