Born into a political family, Kate Upton is the niece of Michigan congressman Fred Upton. After her family moved to Florida, the future blonde bombshell, previously a five-time equestrian champion, turned her attention to modeling. Like many young women in the Sunshine State, Kate Upton had dreams of being a model, but her lack of height proved a drawback. Consistently the shortest girl in her school class for years, she rocketed up to a height of 5’10” at 15. Fresh off the high of her sudden growth spurt and feeling confident that her natural looks would lend themselves well to the modeling arena, Upton attended an open casting call in Miami for Elite Model Management in 2008.
