Samsung announces NX mini SMART camera, plus shows off Activity Tracker early

There has been a flurry of Samsung news over the last couple of days including the launch of the NX mini SMART camera.

The new camera is claimed to be the world's slimmest and lightest interchangeable lens camera and features a 3-inch flip up and touch display.

Designed for portability and the ultimate selfie, the camera offers a 20.5-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a 1/16000 second shutter speed.

The NX mini SMART camera will be available in white, pink, mint green, brown and black, and there will also be several lenses available.

You will find NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities on board and the camera including a 9mm f/3.5 lens will cost $449.

Samsung is also rumoured to be planning an upgraded version two of the Gear 2 that will be a stand-alone device with its own SIM for making calls.

The Korea Herald claims the Korean company is currently in talks with South Korean Telecom and says the model will come with a USIM that can support a 3G data connection.

Additionally, the company's leaked second-generation S Band will launch as the Activity Tracker and Samsung has started showing it off in Germany this week, although with no official announcement.

The Activity Tracker is priced at €79.90 and will help track distance, calorie consumption and sleep, as well as notify users when a paired smartphone has received an incoming call or message.
