  • Summary: Mario's Game Boy Advance debut gives gamers two games in one: an enhanced version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and an action-packed four-player version of the original Mario Bros. arcade game. First released for the original NES in 1988, Super Mario Bros. 2 makes its debut on the Game Boy Advance with new enemies, improved graphics, and tougher challenges. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad adventure through seven fantasy worlds on a quest to save the day, though they have little more than vegetables for defense. New challenges include collecting red coins and finding Yoshi's hidden eggs. Expand

  1. Not only will expose a whole new generation to one of the classics, it will challenge those who remember it the first time around.
  2. There are tons of bright, varied colors and it’s definitely eye-candy. This isn’t the best I’ve seen (Iridion 3D, Pitfall and Tony Hawk 2 look incredible) but it’s still pretty. I still can’t believe this is all on a handheld.
  3. My overall experience with Mario Advance was a good one even though it lacks originality. It’s a blast from the past – the control even feels the same – and it brought back some fond gaming memories.
  4. Effectively highlights the power of the handheld with its brilliant, rich visuals and will provide hours of challenging fun, especially for those who haven't played the original games on which it is based.

You've already seen it all, and much that's new has an empty, unsatisfying air about it that there should be lots more of this good stuff. But if you do pick up Super Mario Advance, I can pretty much promise you won't regret it for a second.
  6. It’s unfortunate that Nintendo didn’t release an all-new side scrolling Mario game.

Enhanced versions of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mario Bros. are what is on this game. They both are very fun to play, especially Super Mario Bros. 2, which captures the same fun that the original has. Expand

A good game, but not too much the best. I've never liked Mario Bros. too much...The inclusion of a new SMB2 is just fantastic! This is a quick reveiw that I'm rushing through, so I can't really give a huge verdict, but overall, it deserves an 8. Mario bros docks down a point, and the odd boss fights knock it down a point. Weirdest Mario ever! Thank goodness they returned to the original formula for 3 (and every 2D Mario since.) That being said, the strangeness of this one is it's charm, and I can't believe that there are so many characters here that havn't been seen since. Expand

The graphics are average controls, music are awesome but it gets real tiring real fast and this system has enough power to put in way more games than 2 (we're not stupid, this system has a lot of power) I can't explain this rating maybe it got some points for the good link game but it just gets so boring so fast cause you've played this before. I highly RECOMEND RENT THIS FIRST!! Expand

The graphics are very dissappointing on this game, considering the stupidly high price, and the game can get very fustrating at times.
