Charles Branch was never the smartest criminal, but he had a knack for getting out of jail. In 1975, he used a hacksaw blade to bust out of a county jail in Arkansas and flee to Texas, only to be arrested a short time later for allegedly breaking into a home outside Dallas and stealing a $50 piece of costume jewelry. The home belonged to a deputy chief of police.
