The Royal Show

19.06.14 - 22.06.14
Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England and dating back to 1840, the Royal Show is a four-day country show and fair held in Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire in early July, which promotes British farming within a framework of family-orientated entertainment. It attracts over 100,000 visitors over four days.

As well as livestock and horse competitions, there are show gardens, flower displays, a range of countryside pursuits and a Grand Ring hosting shows throughout the event. Food & Drink stalls and trade stands complete the picture.

More recently, there has been an Energy and Sustainability Park, a farmers' market, a Heavy Horse Area (with demonstration ring), and a Game & Country Skills section, with demonstrations and advice on everything from mole catching to bow making.

The focus of the 2013 Royal Show is on 'Foodie Heaven', looking at the story of food from the farmer's field to the dinner table - and examining issues such as sustainability, food miles, local produce, seasonal choices and food provenance
