Posted on July 1, 2014, Tuesday

Sulaiman’s remains taken to Kapit Hospital for a post mortem.

KAPIT: A Mara staff was found dead in his room yesterday morning by colleagues who went looking for him after he failed to turn up for work yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Sulaiman Putit, 40, from Sibu.

Kapit Mara officer Alfitri Abang Rahman said when Sulaiman did not turn up for work, his colleagues then called him. They became curious when the phone rang, but Sulaiman did not answer.

As Sulaiman was staying on the third floor of Mara Building, they then decided to go upstairs to check. As the door was locked from inside, they forced it open.

“To their horror, they found Sulaiman lying on the kitchen floor dead,” said Alfitri.

“We are unsure when he passed away, but according to some of his friends, they did call him last night, but the phone went unanswered.” Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel and policemen were at the scene around 10am and the remains were later taken to Kapit Hospital for a post mortem.

Police are investigating the case.
