About the College

President's Message

On behalf of Colorado Northwestern Community College, I welcome you to our website.  CNCC is a unique college located in a spectacular part of Colorado.  Our Rangely campus is perched on a rocky bluff above the town of Rangely along the White River and close to the Utah state line.  This welcoming residential campus is home to our six athletic teams, the fully accredited Seasonal Park Ranger Academy, and many associate degree programs.  Also on this campus is our signature Dental Hygiene program which for more than 50 years continues to provide to our students an education which is second to none.

At nearby Rangely Airport you may join the many others who for nearly five decades have learned to fly or to teach flying or to maintain power plants and airframes in our well-regarded programs for Aviation Flight Technology or Aviation Maintenance Technology.  After just three years, our rodeo team is making its name and competitive excellence known all across the college rodeo scene.  These are examples—you can explore all our offerings in this website.

We are justifiably proud of our new state-of-the-art campus in Craig. Within three new energy efficient buildings, you may study Nursing in our fully accredited program.  Or you may work in a number of certificate areas in Automotive Technology.  The latest equipment is used in teaching Massage Therapy and Cosmetology.  There is ample classroom, laboratory and shop space for several other career technology and degree programs and for many more that will follow as this new campus expands.

Our classrooms may be located on campus in Rangely or Craig or in our satellite centers in Meeker and Oak Creek, but our learning environment is the great outdoors of the entire region of northwestern Colorado and northeastern Utah.  We have special scholarships along with outdoor trips, activities and events all meant to give students unique opportunities for experiential learning, leadership development and relationship building.  As evidence of this challenge, on your first day on the Rangely campus you may climb to the top of our new 38-foot-high Challenge Course to survey your future!

If you are not able to come to us, let us come to you.  We offer programs and associate degrees on-line through a synchronous learning platform.  You can attend live, web-based classes at your computer from home, office or school.  We provide the best of internet classes with the ability to connect live with your instructor and other students.  CCCOnline offers hundreds of additional courses through a traditional web-based format.  Whether you study with us on campus or online, you will find CNCC to be a quality and affordable educational opportunity to meet your goals.

Our size gives us the advantage of being able to ensure that our students benefit from all the individual attention you will need to be successful.  Our faculty members are highly qualified in their fields and all of us--faculty, staff and administrators--take pride in helping our students achieve.  We offer a safe and welcoming learning environment. I encourage you to browse this website and seriously consider Colorado Northwestern.
