This year's Emmy nominations saw a historic first: Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox was nominated for the outstanding guest actress in a comedy series award, making her the first openly transgender person nominated in an acting category. (Conductor Angela Morley won several Emmys for music direction.)
The award ultimately went to Cox's Orange costar, Uzo "Crazy Eyes" Aduba – the win was announced during the Creative Arts portion of the awards, which took place on Aug. 16 – but Cox's nomination is a first nonetheless. Good news travels fast.
Though they'd only been married for a couple of months, Jill Dillard, 23, and husband Derick, 25, knew they couldn't keep their pregnancy news from their families for long.
The stars of TLC's hit reality show 19 Kids and Counting, whose new season starts Sept. 2 at 9 p.m., got busy spreading the word almost as soon as they saw the positive pregnancy test – one they swiped from Jill's mom, Michelle Duggar's, stash.

She may be an Emmy winner, but the road to fame for Orange Is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba didn't always come easy.
Jimmy Fallon is a man of many talents. He's funny, a decent Pictionary player and deadlier than James Bond – at James Bond-related video games.
You can now add "beard trimmer" to Fallon's résumé after Wednesday night's Tonight Show.
The host took guest Jared Leto's beard to task: It was apparently not up to Fallon's standards and needed a trim, so that's just what it got.
