We closed the ONLINE tickets sales, but not to worry, you can still go to J1-Con. We are going to use this time to organize as much as possible so that the online entries will be get in and enjoy the convention quickly!

At Door Registration = $25

Kids At Door Registration (12 and under) = $15

To get tickets to the VIP after party you can purchase them from the VIP PARTY table at J1-Con. 

What comes with the VIP tickets? 

You get to go to the private after party with all the celebrity guests and more that starts at 9pm. Bring your VIP badge and your good! We are partying at Downey’s Bar 526 S Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (that’s Front Street & South Street). Expect hang out with the ladies of The Chemical Crew, while the Ladies of Philly Burlesque to do a Cosplay Burlesque show, and DJ Tygermouth to tear it up while we party!

Given the name “The Cosplay Cutie Turned Burlesque Beauty”, Maki is an avid cosplayer, burlesque performer/producer and frequent blogger from Washington, DC.  She uses her 8 years of costuming experience to craft elaborate costumes for both burlesque and cosplay alongside her boyfriend Shawn.  Her love for all things nerdy has given her inspiration for many of her burlesque acts and themed shows!

Not only will she be gracing the floor with her presence, she will have a table to sell her Maki Roll’s Chop Shop products, and she will be one of the judges in the Cosplay Contest!!!!

Martial arts action high school web-series, “Fighters’ High” panel @ J1-Con!

Fighters’ High is an upcoming martial arts action high school web-series set to release late this fall. The series features highly trained martial artists, rivals and a deep storyline.

“Our story begins with Tommy Kane as he enters his first year at J.D. Oliver Academy of Martial Arts (AKA “Fighters’ High”). Son of the school’s legendary alumni Adam Kane (who has mysteriously left his family behind a year prior), Tommy is marked as a “Legacy Kid” at the academy. Some are in awe of him, while other are jealous and hate him. Regardless, Tommy is determined to be the best, to step out of his father’s shadow, and forge a new path for himself. Along the way he’ll make some close allies, while facing even fiercer rivals. Is Tommy ready for the challenges ahead of him in his first year? He thinks so. Only time will tell!”

Anime voice actor, Vic Mignogna comes to Philly for J1-Con!

Vic Mignogna is best known for his dub role of Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist (which earned him an American Anime Award for Best Actor in 2007). He also voices Broly in the Dragon Ball Z films, Tamaki Suoh in Ouran High School Host Club, Fai D. Flowright in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Ikkaku Madarame in Bleach, Dark Mousy in D.N.Angel, and Zero and Ichiru Kiryu in Vampire Knight. Recently he has done the voices for Spirit Albarn in Soul Eater,Yoshimori Sumimura in Kekkaishi, and Nagato, Obito Uchiha and Fuen in Naruto Shippuden. He is the voice of E-123 Omega from the SEGA franchise Sonic the Hedgehog.

The Cosplay Contest & its RULES!

We are going to keep it real simple. Are you cosplaying? Yes? Then welcome to the Cosplay Contest!!! Show up in your cosplay and be as enthusiastic and as in character as possible to win! There will not be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner in these categories. There will be a WINNER and HONORABLE MENTION. There will be lines made for the specific categories at the beginning of the contest.

I know it’s hard to believe , but it’s really that simple.

These are the CATEGORIES 

- Best Female Hero

- Best Male Hero

- Best Female Villain

- Best Male Villain

- Best Group (2 or more people)

- Best In Show

Your cosplay can be store bought or 100% handmade. As long as you have the “spirit” of the character then that gets counted as a plus. Just make sure NOT to do a whole monologue. KEEP IT SHORT! There are other cosplayers waiting to present their costumes (unless it’s asked by the crowd).

Hint: Bring source material like print outs of what the character looks like so that it makes it easier to compare to your costume.

The Cosplay Contest starts at 6:30pm and will be Hosted by Eric “The Smoke” Moran, who is well known in the independent wrestling world for over a decade. He’s also an actor, producer, an official DC Comics comics book character and a well known cosplayer, including the Cosplay Contest host on the television series “Heroes of Cosplay”.

THE THREE (3) JUDGES HAVE NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED. It’s a secret. :)

Have you ever wanted to go to a maid cafe, and have maids wait on and play games with you? Do you want maids to make you feel special? Moe Maid Cafe will be at J1-Con in the “Relaxation Area” to make all your otaku dreams come true. The cafe will be open from 12:30- 7pm. When arriving to the cafe area you will be welcomed by my staff of cute maids. The maids will give you such greetings as “Welcome home Master”, “Princess” or even “Prince.” You will have your own maid to play games with and talk to. There will also be fun food to purchase.
