SvenskaSocial insurance agreement with India enters into force
On 12 June 2014, the Swedish Government approved the entry into force of the social insurance agreement signed between Sweden and India, an agreement that now makes it easier for Swedish citizens to work in India and for Indian citizens to work in Sweden. The agreement enters into force on 1 August 2014.

High-Level Dialogue against Corporal Punishment of Children
A conference on how to give children a childhood free from corporal punishment, took place in Stockholm 3-4 June. The conference is an initiative to start a continuous dialogue between high-level stakeholders, policy-makers and experts. Austria has agreed to arrange a similar conference in 2016.

Methods to counter homelessness
A conference entitled 'House Wanted' on homelessness and exclusion from the housing market, was held on 8-9 April 2014, by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. More than 500 people from municipalities, government agencies, voluntary organisations and interest groups, as well as interested members of the public, gathered to learn about the considerable knowledge and methods that exist to counter homelessness.
Results of the initiative for the most ill elderly people
Over 700 people gathered at Stockholm International Fairs in Älvsjö on 25 March when the Government presented the results of its initiative to improve health and social care for the most ill elderly people. The day included both new knowledge and ideas for the future.
