Online community network of Swachh Bharat launched

New Delhi, Oct. 9 (ANI): The Ministry of Urban Development, seeking to convert the Swachh Bharat Andolan into a mass programme has launched an online community network.Taking the help of 'LocalCircles', a community social media platform, the social media platform will enable citizens to easily come together, exchange ideas on cleanliness, take up appropriate cleanliness activities in their neighbourhood, share pictures of collective efforts, engage with elected representatives and take the cleanliness campaign forward.Further, it will enable participants to know about the best practices for adoption. Further, it also enables considered and collective inputs to the implementing agencies on a regular basis on issues like garbage collection and disposal, promotion of civic sense and interventions, if any, required from the concerned agencies.The
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
on October 2, focuses on sanitation, hygiene and waste management. It includes sweeping, removal of garbage, debris and unauthorised encroachments from roads, markets and residential places and aims at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. (ANI)
LPG cylinder rates slashed

J-K, Jharkhand geared for second round of polling

New Delhi, Dec. 1 (ANI): All the arrangements for the second phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand were finalised on Monday. Twenty one assembly seats in including 18 in Kashmir and three in Jammu and 20 assembly seats in Jharkhand are scheduled to go to polls on December 2.

IPL spot fixing case: Petitioner calls for Mudgal report to be made public

New Delhi, Dec. 1 (ANI): Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) secretary Aditya Verma, who is the petitioner in the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing case, on Monday termed the efforts by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) to shield its former president N Srinivasan and other involved officials in the ongoing case as 'unfortunate'. Verma also stated that Justice Mudgal's report on the same should be made available to the public and media so that everyone can know the truth.

Rajnath deplores Maoist attack, says govt. will not condone violence

Lucknow/New Delhi, Dec. 1 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday deplored the attack by Maoist forces on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans, which led to the deaths of 13 of the paramilitary personnel, adding that the government will not condone violence under circumstance.
