The Wedding Car
Most couples will hire a wedding car for the big day. Transportation is a crucial element of the day's proceedings but while it is fun to indulge in a special vehicle, there are certain considerations.
The type of car chosen will usually reflect the couple's tastes and style of the wedding day.
Practicalities
The couple should go and look at the car in real life before hiring, rather than relying on pictures, to check they like it and feel comfortable with it.
Some couples opt for an elegant, classic vintage wedding car such as a Roll-Royce or a Bentley. Others prefer something more quirky, such as a Beetle, or something sporty like an Aston Martin.
Practicalities are paramount: a large-skirted wedding dress is not easy to fold into a low-slung sports car. Open-topped vehicles will play havoc with hair, veils and tiaras.
Colour
If cars in a neutral colour are chosen, with ribbons that coordinate with the wedding 'theme', they will complement the photographs.
As a backdrop to pictures, individuals, especially the bride, will stand out against darker vehicles; there will also be interesting reflections in the shine of the paintwork.
