Wedding Planner Costs

For a full design, co-ordination and management role, the wedding co-coordinator will propose a pricing structure. A deposit is required in advance, usually upon booking.

Most wedding planners charge a fee based on a percentage of the total cost of the wedding - approximately 10-15 per cent, often with a minimum charge. The couple can work out an estimated cost based upon the predicted wedding budget. Remember, if the costs go over budget, the wedding planners costs will also increase. Equally, check that if the wedding comes in under budget, the wedding co-coordinator's fees also decrease (but remember there may still be a minimum charge made).

If a planner is prepared to work for a fixed fee, this is the preferable option. It allows the couple to make an exact provision in the wedding budget, but it is a less common form of payment.

Remember that while the cost of a planner can seem steep, sometimes it is outweighed by the discounts that they can secure from their recommended suppliers.

Written terms and conditions should be sought and reviewed before the bride and groom consent to anything.
