Visit the beautiful Czech capital and make Prague's famous music festival - over three weeks of world-class recitals, concerts and operas - the focus of your stay.

Some of the world's foremost musicians, symphony orchestras and chamber music ensembles head to Prague for this musical showcase that began more than 60 years ago. The festival always features Smetana's 'My Country' cycle of symphonic poems on 12 May, the anniversary of the Czech composer's death.

The Festival features many works that commemorate various anniversaries and premières of contemporary compositions.

Events are held in a variety of atmospheric and impressive venues, including the Neo-Renaissance Rudolfinum - a lavish concert hall by the Vltava River - a cinema, and various churches and convents, giving you a golden opportunity to explore the city.

In 2012 the programme included a range of performances from The Czech Philharmonic, the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Individual performers includde Bernarda Fink, Ian Bostridge, Jaroslav Tuma, Marianna Vasiljeva, Mark Padmore, Paul Lewis, Arta Arnicane.
