Watch Marvel's Agent Carter teaser: Hayley Atwell is ready for action

ABC has debuted a new trailer for its limited run series Agent Carter.

Hayley Atwell reprises her role from the Captain America movies as Peggy Carter, who by day is an office worker for the Strategic Scientific Reserve and by night goes on secret espionage missions.



Marvel's Agent Carter is set in the post-World War II era, with Dominic Cooper portraying founding SHIELD member Howard Stark.

Peggy Carter eschews the societal norms of the 1940s to seduce and destroy targets who threaten the very fate of the world.

Glimpses of the upcoming series were teased throughout the first half of Agents of SHIELD this fall.


Agent Carter at Comic-Con: Hayley Atwell talks Marvel's new TV hit

Agents of SHIELD will take a hiatus from ABC while Agent Carter airs its eight episodes.

The ensemble cast for the Marvel series includes James D'Arcy as Howard Stark's butler Jarvis, and Shea Whigham as SSR head Roger Dooley.

Marvel's Agent Carter premieres on ABC in the US on January 6, 2015.
