EastEnders: Ben Mitchell to make Lucy confession to Phil

By
Ben Mitchell has more explaining to do on EastEnders next week as the events of Good Friday continue to haunt him.

Friday's episode (November 28) saw Ben convince his half-brother Ian Beale not to report him to the police, after he offered up an explanation for why he and Jay Brown hid Lucy's phone and purse after her murder.

Although Ben (Harry Reid) has managed to get Ian back on side, the atmosphere remains extremely frosty between him and Jay next week. When Ben's father Phil picks up on this, the scheming teen lies that Jay is just jealous of his new relationship with Abi Branning.

Word of Ben's false claims soon reaches Jay, who angrily tells Phil to speak to Ian if he really wants to know what his son has been up to recently.

Phil is shocked to hear that Ian has been rowing with Ben and heads over to confront his old rival, but loyal Ian decides to keep Ben's secret to himself.

Later in the week, Phil continues to defend Ben when Max Branning learns of Abi's relationship with the bad boy and goes on the warpath.

Pleased when Phil defends him in front of Max, Ben later assures his father that he is 'no longer gay'. Although Ben is clearly in denial, he is delighted that he finally seems to be making Phil proud.

Now confident that he has his dad's approval at last, Ben builds up the courage to tell him the truth about the night Lucy died - but viewers will have to tune in to find out exactly how Phil reacts.

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, December 1 at 8pm and Thursday, December 4 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
