If you’re among the Americans who find it hard to understand Arizona, or the connection between patriotism and high-powered weaponry, watch this political ad — and prepare to still be baffled. It’s for Ron Gould, a Republican running for Congress in Arizona’s 4th District. It seems to argue for homegrown border militias and the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid.
“Government-run health care? We don’t want it, we don’t need it, we can’t afford it,” Mr. Gould says, before taking a pump-action shotgun to blow away a copy of the Affordable Care Act.
“Washington doesn’t get us,” he says.
Well, after seeing this, I am proud to say I don’t, either.
