Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman addresses Daryl Dixon's sexuality
By Jamie Harris and Justin Harp
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has addressed questions over Daryl Dixon's sexuality.
Speaking on AMC's spinoff discussion show Talking Dead, the comic book writer was asked by a fan whether Daryl (Norman Reedus) will ever "get laid".
"Daryl Dixon is actually straight," Kirkman told host Chris Hardwick. "Coming back in our next half of the season, we are going to be introducing a very prominent gay character from the comics.
"[This character] will be debuting - so be on the lookout for that."
Showrunner Scott Gimple has previously remained coy about Daryl's sexuality but confirmed that a gay character would be introduced to the series.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC on February 8, 2015. The show airs on Fox in the UK on Mondays at 9pm.
