The Tampa Bay Times Fund administers these scholarship programs:

CAREER JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships target high school seniors in the Times' audience area who have a demonstrated interest in pursuing journalism as a major in college and as a career. The scholarship is worth $2,500 per year and may be renewed annually. Four winners are selected each year. Students from these Florida counties are eligible to apply: Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus.  Application deadline: January 5, postmarked. Winners are notified by mid-March.

BARNES SCHOLARSHIP
The Barnes Scholarships were established in 1999 to help college-bound teens who are high academic achievers, who have overcome significant obstacles in their lives and who have financial need. Each of the four winners is eligible to receive up to $15,000 per year for four years to attend any nationally accredited college or university. The scholarship may be used to pay for expenses related to the cost of college attendance. The students must be enrolled full-time and remain in good academic standing to continue to receive the scholarship. High school seniors from these Florida counties are eligible to apply: Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough. Application period: August 1 to October 15. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNS
ONLY students who are HIRED as part of the Summer Internship Program at the Times are eligible to apply for these awards. Scholarships are worth up to $3,500 for returning fulltime undergraduate students and up to $1,500 for returning full-time graduate students.
