Legoland Florida recently unveiled details on the hotel opening next summer for the Winter Haven theme park aimed at families with young kids. It will be a 152-bedroom hotel, with themed interiors "like a large Lego box," general manager Adrian Jones said, with play stations everywhere. The hotel will be right next to the park entrance, making it just a short walk when kids need a nap break. One of the most popular features borrowed from the company's California hotel is the "disco elevator," a mini disco complete with a mirrored ball and thumping Bee Gees music. An "adventure floor" near the elevator will feature a whoopie cushion and Lego characters on the wall. The hotel is already taking reservations for June 15, 2015, at LegolandHotel.com, but the company has not yet announced an official opening date. Room rates start at $279 and all units include two sleeping areas, one with a queen-sized bed and a separate sleeping area for up to three children.
