Energy

The Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group is the largest energy consumer in Italy, accounting for about 1% of the Italian energy budget and approximately 2% of the electric component only.

Thus we have a great responsibility, which we embrace by continuously searching for improved uses of energy resources and by developing the production of energy from renewable sources.

Growing in particular is the use of photovoltaic energy; in 2011 the Rome San Lorenzo photovoltaic plant (active since March 2008), which during 2011 produced 663 MWh was complemented by the plant at the High Speed Station of Turin Porta Susa.
