Training at the LGA Offices...
A number of training modules will be offered in Adelaide at the LGA Offices over the coming year.

Training comes to you...
Where there is sufficient interest LGAProcurement can offer training onsite at your Council or a neighbouring Council (if a regional approach is sought).  By taking advantage of this delivery mode you can: schedule training to suit your Council agenda; save costs and reduce downtime; maximise staff participation in training; and customise courses to suit individual Council needs.

Please contact Vicky Newton via email victoria.newton@lga.sa.gov.au for a complete listing of upcoming Procurement Training being run through the LGA Education & Training Service or to discuss customised training options.

Vision:  to be recognised as the support network within South Australian Local Government Procurement.

Our Values:

  • Inclusive: A network for all procurement professionals working in local government in South Australia
  • Productive: An efficient resource for procurement knowledge sharing
  • Proactive: Exploring opportunities to benefit Local Government Procurement as a whole

WHO IS THE NPP?

The Network for Procurement Professionals (NPP) is a professional group for South Australian Local Government procurement; previously known as the Procurement Network Forum. The key aim for the NPP is the establishment of an organisation of persons who have a professional interest in Local Government in South Australia, particularly in Procurement and Contract Management.

On 21 November 2014, the NPP formalised its structure through the endorsement of inaugural Terms of Reference and the election of Committee Members.  Click here(234 kb) for a copy of the Terms of Reference.

The NPP sought to formalise its structure in 2014, in recognition of the increasing significance procurement plays in enhancing the performance of Local Government, and the importance of having a formal voice through which to promote, support and coordinate procurement strategies and activities across the Sector.

The NPP is steered by a Committee providing input and advice on the training and other support activities that further develop the skills of Council procurement staff. It is through the NPP Committee that much of South Australian Local Government procurement advancements will be promoted and in some instances key activities will be led.

If you are interested in becoming a Committee member please contact the NPP Chairperson, Michael Knowles. The Committee is able to accommodate one further regional Council representative and an additional metropolitan Council representative.

It’s an exciting time – and the NPP is always interested in feedback.  Feel free to contact Committee members to discuss procurement matters, and if you would like to be part of the “Linked In" closed group, please let us know.

Our current Committee is:

Samantha Atkins (SAtkins@burnside.sa.gov.au)                               Kathryn Johnson (tsproject@pirie.sa.gov.au)
Michael Knowles (mknowles@playford.sa.gov.au)                          Tara Wilde (t.wilde@murraybridge.sa.gov.au)
