Due to rising community demand and Local Government's restricted tax powers (for more information, click here), Council frequently seek funding support for programs and activities from other Governments. Often such support relates to community-based projects.

The LGA plays an active role in lobbying for financial support from other Governments. This includes the Commonwealth Local Government Financial Assistance Grants, Road Funding, Library Funding, and other structured programs.
