Stormwater is a significant issue for South Australia, one that is being addressed jointly by State and Local Government as a standing agenda item of the Minister's Local Government Forum.
In early 2012 the LGA engaged Jeff Tate Consulting to prepare a short paper that investigates stormwater management in metropolitan and regional Councils. This was instigated in order to respond to the changing policy settings in the area of stormwater management. A copy of the paper is available here here.
The Local Government Association (LGA) commissioned the development of a 'consistent narrative' on Local Government stormwater management in South Australia. This narrative discusses the many facets of Local Government stormwater management approaches and objectives. It is anticipated that this paper will not only provide a foundation of information in this space, but also be used to develop further work, in particular media and communication tools.
A copy of the report including key messages is available below. Also available is a booklet that has been developed to be utilised by Councils.
