This project investigated developments in neuroscience and their implications for society and public policy.

This joint project between the Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering and Royal Society is looking at the implications of human enhancement technologies for the future of work.

Knowledge, networks and nations

This study provided an overview of the global scientific landscape in 2011. The aims were to map and analyse where, why and by whom science is being carried out around the world and to understand how this is changing and what the implications of these developments are for global decision makers in science, business, NGOs and government.

Nuclear non-proliferation

This project focuses on best practices for the management of spent fuel, including interim storage, geological disposal, and reuse.

People and the planet

This project is a major study investigating the relationship between changes in population size, distribution and age structure, consumption and the implications for human wellbeing.
