HBO's nonfiction series "The Jinx" concludes this Sunday, March 15, at 8pm. Read Toh! TV critic Matt Brennan's review, originally published Feb. 4. Read the New York Times: Robert Durst is Arrested on Murder Charge When a human torso and a number of black plastic bags filled with severed limbs washed ashore in Galveston, Texas in the fall of 2001, Det. Gary Jones initiated an investigation. The head of the victim, later identified as Morris Black, was never recovered, but a newspaper found at the scene led the police to the apartment of one Dorothy Ciner -- "a real ugly deaf-mute woman" described by her landlord as an ideal tenant, the kind who paid the year's rent in advance and then more or less disappeared. ‘Modern Family’ Cast On Six Years of Laughs: ‘We Get More and More Excited’

55 minutes ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

For six seasons “Modern Family” has entertained with its unique brand of jokes, slapstick and loving family moments, and the cast and creators gathered at PaleyFest Saturday night to talk about how they keep the show fresh six years in and what keeps “Modern Family” a modern favorite.

The biggest challenge of being in the sixth season, said Ty Burrell, is “not wanting to just do the slotted thing that you’ve worked into over the years. Everybody’s working really hard to ensure that we’re doing new things. Burrell added that he doesn’t believe sitcom characters and truly grow and change, but rather that new situations reveal new sides and layers to the characters.

“I don’t think you guys really want us to grow, because if we did I wouldn’t fall over things anymore,” he said.

On the criticism of the less-than-perfect and often embarrassing aspects of their characters, »

'The Walking Dead' Creator Robert Kirkman: Hold On To Your Rights!

1 hour ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

Read More:'The Walking Dead' Prequel Series Grabs Two Season Order from AMC One thing Robert Kirkman wanted SXSW attendees to know right up front: He really loves comics. The creator of many cross-platform franchises, most notably pop culture juggernaut "The Walking Dead," began originally as a guy who wanted to make his own comics: First, self-publishing them, then working with Image Comics -- a publisher that lets creators retain the rights to their own work. "I started doing comics. hat's how I got into comics," was his way of summarizing his origin story. And retaining the rights to his comics is what's helped Kirkman create the company Skybound Entertainment, which develops ancillary materials around not just Kirkman's many brands, but other creator-owned properties. It was the focus of the conversation at a panel this Saturday at SXSW, which also covered the ways Kirkman has taken the stories he wants to tell, »

‘The Royals’ Premiere: Elizabeth Hurley Teases Chaos in the Castle

2 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

“Austin Powers” vixen Elizabeth Hurley plays bad-to-the-bone Queen Helena in E!’s first-ever scripted series, “The Royals.”Filmed in London, the soapy drama — from “One Tree Hill” creator Mark Schwahn—follows an ultra-glamorous yet dysfunctional modern royal family, with Hurley on the throne.

Hurley tellsVariety why she’s so good at playing bad:

Why was this the right project to bring you to TV?

99.9% of American shows shoot in America, and my son is in school in England. Also, I just never found something that I would have wanted to do for a period of time. Doing a movie, you’re in, you’re out, but on TV, there’s always that magical chance that we might be here for years.

The Royals” was given a second season before the premiere. Is the pressure on?

Of course it adds an element of pressure, but we’ve shot it, so »

Durst, who is currently the subject of an HBO documentary, “The Jinx:The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst,” has been a suspect in the unsolved death of afriend in L.A. 15 years ago.

Durst’s friend and confidante, journalist Susan Berman, was shot dead in her house in Benedict Canyon on Christmas Eve, 2000. Numerous questions have been raised about how much Durst knew about her death.
