May 2015Norfolk and Norwich Festival
This growing international arts festival really puts East Anglia on the cultural map with an array of classical and contemporary music, art, jazz and dance.
With a history stretching back 240 years, Norwich Festival enjoys attendance figures of over 300,000. The Festival utilises a number of venues around the picturesque city, including Norwich Cathedral and the famous Spiegeltent (a large travelling tent made of canvas and wood, and decorated with mirrors and stained glass). There's even a free garden party!
In previous years the Festival has featured a great range of theatre and performance, including the UK premiere of a show named 100% Norfolk, starring a cast of 100 local people, Motor Show, an outdoor dance performance set on an urban wasteland, and a one-woman show by mezzo-soprano Jessica Walker called The Girl I Left Behind Me.
