John Fallon

Chief Executive, Pearson

Since 2013 John Fallon has been the man in charge of Pearson, the biggest educational publisher in the world, which also owns the Financial Times. Educated at the University of Hull with a degree in Economics, Politics and Sociology, Fallon has held senior public policy and communications roles in local government, as well as the position of director of corporate affairs at Powergen where he was also on the executive committee. He joined Pearson in 1997 as director of communications and was appointed CEO of its educational publishing business in 2003. From 2008 he was responsible for the company’s education business outside North America. As well as his leadership duties, Fallon keeps a blog which follows trends in global education.
