The Toasts

Traditionally, all of the wedding speeches end with a toast. The guests should be given a glass of champagne before the speeches start for these toasts.

The caterers should be briefed to serve the speech-makers' drinks last. They will then be able to begin their speeches confident in the knowledge that all the guests are ready, with fully charged glasses.

Traditional Toasts

The traditional wedding toasts, said at the end of each speech, are as follows:

- The father of the bride: 'the bride and groom'.
- The groom: 'the bridesmaids'
- The best man: 'Mr and Mrs [newly-weds' surname]'
