Artists and companies visit Australia from all over the world, and the Festival has become famous for its collaborations, commissions and premieres. Art, installations and performance permeate the entire city, with over 40 free events over the course of the festival.
The Festival programme features about 250 events, drawing crowds of over a million, making it the most attended cultural event in Australia. 2016 dates are provisional.
