Church of England wedding requirments

In order for a couple to be able to marry in the church of their choice, there are certain requirements that they must fulfil.

These have recently been relaxed allowing couples more flexibility.

One of the couple must have:

- been baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish.
- lived, at any time, in the parish for at least six months.
- attended church services in the parish church for at least 6 months.

One of the couple's parents, any time after the birth of the prospective bride/groom, must have:

- lived in the parish for least 6 months.
- attended church services in the parish church for at least 6 months.

One the couple's parents or grandparents must have:

- got married in the parish
