Eve Best

Actress and Director

As an actress, Eve Best is probably most recognisable from her portrayal as Dr O’Hara in television series Nurse Jackie, or for her role as Wallis Simpson in The King’s Speech. After graduating from Oxford she performed in the Edinburgh Festival and made her professional debut as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing at the Southwark Playhouse. Best went on to train at RADA in London, appearing in ’Tis Pity She’s a Whore after graduating, for which she won two Best Newcomer awards. In 2005 she was awarded an Olivier Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the title role in Hedda Gabler, and has performed in numerous television and radio productions. She made her directorial debut in 2013 with a production of Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
